Description | ELI will continue to contribute to the improvement of European law and the formation of a more vigorous legal community through projects and other activities. The latter will increase the capacity of national practitioners and authorities to address issues relating to judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters, increase awareness of policy makers in various fields and improve knowledge on legislation and administrative practices, among others. Types of activities planned include: • Annual Conference: will benefit the interested public, ELI and beyond and allow for the dissemination of project results. It will also provide a forum for ensuring external and internal contributions to ongoing projects on issues relevant to the call. • Membership Meeting: will benefit ELI and beyond, foster ties within network and define future orientation of ELI. • ELI Council meetings: by identifying priorities for ELI, approving budget, refining projects and voting on output, Council meetings provide a forum for the proper management of ELI and its projects. • Secretariat activities: facilitate the work of project teams, contributes to the general management of the network and ELI’s activities and executes decisions made by ELI bodies. • Employing staff members and interns to allow Secretariat to fulfill its obligations in achieving call priorities. • Projects, a cornerstone of ELI activity, entail the analysis and development of legal issues in Europe that facilitate judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters and promote the correct implementation of EU acquis. 16 meetings and 6 conferences are planned. This benefits an unlimited number of jurists from Europe and beyond as well as European/global citizens and companies. • Hubs and SIGs are established to discuss and monitor legal developments and stimulate project proposals. 5 conferences are planned to enable exchange of knowledge between experts in relevant fields and general public. |
