Description | Eli Lilly is investing over $1.2 billion to modernize and expand its pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Carolina, Puerto Rico. The project includes upgrading the PR01 plant into a state-of-the-art oral solid dose manufacturing site and expanding the PR05 plant for insulin production with increased capacity and advanced technologies. It also involves major investments in energy integration and sustainability, including a 9 MW cogeneration unit and a 2 MW solar field to meet up to 85% of the facilities' energy demand. |
