Description
Description | This project is consists of infrastructure improvements to Eliot River Elementary School. Interior renovations will replace end-of-life mechanical and electrical equipment that is original to the building. This work includes replacement of expansion tanks, hot water tank, domestic hot water mixing valve, various pumps, piping, electrical panels and new LED lighting. This interior renovation work will focus on approximately approximately 2,500 ft2 of mechanical and gym change room space that will be completely reconstructed. Additionally, two new accessible washrooms will be built within the existing classroom area. An exterior building envelope package will see a new modified bitumen roof on Eliot River Elementary School that will be designed in-line with the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) 2017. Additionally, the aging exterior brick will be selectively repointed to ensure building envelope integrity. The roof area is approximately 35,000 ft2 and the repointing is estimated at 4,000 ft2. The province has committed to a life cycle renewal infrastructure investment in the Eliot River Elementary school to address aging infrastructure, life safety systems, energy efficiency initiatives, and provide additional instructional and administration space. |
