The project will rehabilitate the District’s original, now vacant, Municipal Office into a multi-use, community-oriented space. The District plans to create rentable office space, flex-space and programming space to support the needs of the community. Re-purposing the original building preserves important historical value in the community. Included in the District’s Official Community Plan and with increased collaboration and feedback with community groups, the need was identified for additional long-term, community-oriented spaces to support growing local community groups, non-profit societies, and the business sector. The project works will include: - Rehabilitation of approximately 3,400 sq. ft of floor space; - Multi-purpose space; - Roof replacement; - Kitchen; - Washrooms; - Reception area; - Workshop area; - Various exterior, electrical, and mechanical systems; and - Other related works.
