Description | The 112-year-old Elphinstone Road Road Over Bridge (ROB) in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, closed to traffic on September 12, 2025, will be rebuilt with a modern double-decker design by January 2027. The Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (MRIDC) will dismantle the ageing structure and construct a replacement that spans both Central and Western Railway tracks. The new bridge will have a lower deck with 2+2 lanes and a footpath for local east-west traffic, and an upper deck forming a key stretch of the Sewri–Worli Connector, linking central and south Mumbai with regional express corridors and the upcoming international airport. |
