Description

Description

A PREJUDICE-FREE AND INCLUSIVE EUROPE 2025 The twinning meeting in Ludányhalászi, in connection with the 20th anniversary of the accession of the Central European countries to the EU, will take a new approach to cultural dialogue and friendship between citizens. The meeting will welcome delegations representing the communities of Čeláre from Slovakia, which joined the EU in 2004, TYCZYN and LYSKI from Poland, Darkovice from the Czech Republic, Csíkszentlélek from Romania and Pačir from Serbia, which is on the threshold of EU accession. The technical programme of the meeting will not only focus on strengthening the relationship between EU citizens, but also on the rights of people with disabilities and their social inclusion. We will build our programme on local specificities by involving social homes for people with disabilities in our project. We will give priority to building links between people with disabilities and local citizens, and to implementing social inclusion elements of the programme. In addition to presenting local traditions and customs of the twin communities, cultural events will also include live performances by people living in the institutions, helping them to integrate into social life. We also showcase good examples of disadvantaged people working and demonstrating their skills to increase acceptance. We will also aim to transfer knowledge about European values and the European Union in the professional programme of our meetings. We will also promote intercultural dialogue with accompanying events to encourage groups that are less active or less interested in the themes of our professional programme. We aim to showcase the European Union's programmes for catching up and the achievements of the last 20 years. We will exchange experience and showcase the opportunities we have taken to each other and to delegations from countries applying for EU membership, to encourage their commitment to EU integration.
