The significance and volume of digital evidence continues to grow year-by-year. This continuous growth both in the volume of data and the number of evidence sources, puts a burden on investigators working on especially complex cases. In order to fulfill the growing needs and expectations of contemporary investigations some of the processes have to be automated. Centralized storage and automation of analysis enables to turn the growth of digital evidence from challenge to an asset. Modern tools that enable investigators review and share their findings effectively improve the quality of the investigation process and allow effective cooperation between different stakeholders. This project aims to strengthen and improve the Finnish Customs investigative and analysis capabilities by building a centralized data storage and automated processing system for digital evidence thus enabling better quality information exchange between the different stakeholders protecting the financial interests of the European Union.
