Description | EmberYork Energy Center LLC, backed by Brightforge Energy LLC, is proposing to build a 900-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant near Sealy, Texas. The plant is designed as a peaking facility to operate during peak power demand and is planned to connect directly to CenterPoint Energy's 138-kilovolt transmission line. The turbines are designed to operate on 50% hydrogen in the future for a low-carbon alternative. Construction is planned to start in January 2026 and complete by December 2028, creating 300 construction jobs and 10 permanent jobs. |
