Credit: Embraer SA. Embraer Phenom 100EV is the latest variant of the Phenom 100E business jet developed by Embraer. It features modified engines and a new avionics suite offering enhanced performance. The Phenom 100EV aircraft was unveiled during the EAA AirVenture Fly-In and Convention held in July 2016. It was also displayed at the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE) 2018 held in Geneva, Switzerland, in May 2018. Emirates Flight Training Academy placed an order for five Phenom 100E aircraft during the 2015 Dubai Air Show. The order was modified to a Phenom 100EV business jet in July 2016 and the first aircraft was delivered in November 2017. Embraer delivered its first Phenom 100EV aircraft to an undisclosed American customer in March 2017. The Phenom 100EV is a low-wing monoplane with T-tail assembly, designed to deliver a high level of performance and comfort. The aircraft offers an economic life of 35,000 hours. It has a length of 12.82m, height of 4.35m, and wingspan of 12.3m. The business jet offers a baggage space of up to 70ft3 and features a fully enclosed aft lavatory, which can be fitted with an optional rigid door for more privacy. The Phenom 100EV’s cockpit features a Prodigy Touch avionics suite, which is based on the Garmin G3000. The suite has centralised touchscreens and includes vertical navigation, GWX 70 with ground clutter suppression and turbulence detection. The flight deck features three 12.4in interchangeable displays with soft keys, which reduce navigation time on menus. The smart system automation and flight management system (FMS) with graphical flight planning capabilities further reduce the pilot’s checklist. The flight deck is also equipped with an integrated electronic standby instrument (IESI), engine indication and crew alerting system (EICAS), charts and maps, synthetic vision system (SVS), coupled vertical navigation (VNAV) and required navigation performance (RNP). It also includes a wide area augmentation system (WAAS) / localiser performance with vertical guidance (LPV), Datalink via SATCOM, and central maintenance computer (CMC) for quick fault location and isolation. The Phenom 100EV aircraft features a spacious cabin equipped with latest technologies and new seating configurations. It has the capacity to accommodate six occupants in the standard configuration and can carry up to eight occupants when installed with additional seating. Designed by Embraer and BMW Designworks, the Oval Lite cabin offers more head and leg space along with improved ergonomics and comfort for passengers. Customers can choose from a range of cabin finish options available in 11 colour pallets such as amber, bronzite, crystal, emerald, mystic, pearl, ruby, sapphire, smokey quartz, sunstone and tiffany. The cabin temperature is controlled by the environmental control system (ECS), while the optional VIP panel allows passengers to control the temperature in the cabin. In-flight entertainment is provided by a CD/DVD with XM radio receiver and auxiliary inputs. The Phenom 100EV is powered by two modified Pratt and Whitney Canada PW617F1-E engines, which generate a maximum thrust of 1,730lb each. The engine is equipped with a dual-channel full-authority digital engine control (FADEC) system. The aircraft has a maximum usable fuel capacity of 2,804lb. It has a maximum cruise speed of 750km/h and a maximum range of 2,182km. It requires a take-off distance of 975m and landing distance of 740m, while it can fly at altitudes of up to 41,000ft (12,497m). The aircraft complies with the ICAO Stage 4 noise requirements and emits 10% less carbon dioxide (CO2) compared to other aircraft in its class.
