The project will focus on putting inclusion in the heart of development and promoting social cohesion investing in marginalizedterritories and in fragile and at risk areas. It will identify and implement short- and medium-term interventions to preventfragility and build resilience in conflict and at risk zones while mitigating the impacts of the conflicts on internally displacedpeople, women and the youth in particular. The project will seek to complement existing and planned projects funded either by IDAor other donors notably projects focusing on the response and prevention of conflict in the Sahel. Overall, the project will focuson (i) expanding access to basic services and infrastructures to strengthen connectivity in the targeted areas; (ii) reviving thelocal economy, creating employment opportunity for youth, women and (iii) strengthening local governance and citizensparticipation.
