Emergency Program for Macroeconomic and Fiscal Sustainability

The objective of the program is to support the fiscal policies and actions that the Government of the Dominican Republic is carrying out to confront the COVID-19 pandemic, with the aim of restoring macroeconomic stability and fiscal sustainability. The structure and content of the program are aligned with the Rapid Financing Instrument (IFR) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which will be approved on April 23, 2020. The budgetary support of the Special Financing Loans for Development (SDL) will help finance efforts to contain the health crisis, mitigate its impact on vulnerable households, and promote anti-cyclical policies that reduce its effect on the economy in the short term.
