Description
Description | As a contribution to the implementation of Indonesia's climate change strategy, this open program will finance measures to reduce emissions in the waste sector in selected cities in Indonesia. The program includes the preparation and implementation of waste management investment measures, e.g. construction of landfill sections according to modern standards, construction of sorting and composting plants, procurement of operating equipment. As part of an accompanying measure, the program cities are to be advised on improving the entire municipal waste management system and the technical, financial and institutional capacity of the city cleaning authorities are to be strengthened. The aim of the FC module is to make a contribution to the implementation of Indonesia's climate change strategy in cities. The target group is the population living in the program cities. We estimate the total cost of the program for investments and accompanying measures at EUR 102.44 million. These costs are to be covered by a low-interest loan of EUR 75 million (probably in two tranches of EUR 25 million and EUR 50 million), an Indonesian contribution of EUR 100 million and a contribution of EUR 1,000 million. EUR 19.05 million for the investment costs, a mandate from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) with a grant for the accompanying measure amounting to EUR 7.6 million and an own contribution from the Indonesian side for the accompanying measure amounting to EUR 0.79 million. |
