Description

Description

The proposed project will design, develop, and establish an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters programme that focuses on Integrated Early Childhood Systems and Policies (IECSP). This unique and highly innovative interdisciplinary programme responds to a globally emerging ‘systemic turn’ in the field of Early Childhood Development, Education and Care. Graduates will gain the competences and skills that are globally sought by organisations, agencies, and governments to lead the development of integrated and multi-sectoral approaches to designing, providing and evaluating holistic services and policies for young children from birth to eight. IESP development is led by Dublin City University, an internationally recognised thought-leader in the field. The 120 ECTS programme will be developed in close collaboration with four prospective partners for the future EMJM consortium: The University of Stavanger, Tampere University, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and Tecnológico de Monterry. All prospective partners are members of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU). Associate partners for the proposed EMJM will be selected from a global network of partners including International Non-Governmental Organisations, Think Tanks, Academic Institutions and Policy partners situated in all global regions. IECSP enhances inter-university collaboration in the European Higher Education Area, inter- and trans-disciplinarity, and international mobility. It addresses a lack of available international postgraduate programmes in the field of early childhood and contributes to establishing European Union leadership in this fast developing area of policy, practice, and research.
