The European Migration Network (EMN) National Contact Point (NCP) of Malta will contribute to the key scope of the EMN to provide up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information on migration and asylum for the institutions of the EU as well as its Member States, plus Norway, in order to inform policymaking as well as the wider public and facilitate practical cooperation. The EMN NCP of Malta will therefore be producing relevant information in a more flexible and timely way to meet the needs of the policy makers, pratictioners and the wider public by (1) identifying information/knowledge needs of policy relevance at national and EU level; (2) increasing the responsiveness to the needs of policymakers and other target groups, addressing both immediate and longer-term requirements; (3) sharing good practices and contribute to the development of practical cooperation in legal migration to overcome identified challenges and barriers. The above-mentioned objectives will be reached by the MT NCP through the following activities: Providing replies to EMN Ad-Hoc Queries; Preparing EMN annual policy reports; Updates to the EMN Country Factsheets Preparing national reports for the EMN Studies; Contributing to EMN Informs; Contributing to EMN Glossary; Contributing to EMN Bulletins; Contributing to the EMN Status reports; Updates to the EU Immigration Portal; Participating in the work of the Return Expert Group and other EMN working groups; Networking and co-operation amongst the EMN NCPs; Networking and co-operation at the national level; Managing EMN national websites; Organizing EMN conferences. Increasing further the visibility of the EMN through targeted communication and prompt dissemination of its outputs in appropriate formats; Throughout the implementation of the above-mentioned activities the MT NCP will ensure complementarity with other Member States and EU initiatives.
