Description

Description

The project will upgrade a water treatment plant in Emo, Ontario to address elevated levels of trihalomethanes (THMs) and haloacetic acids (HAAs), which exceed the Ontario Drinking Water Quality Standards (ODQS). The work will involve flushing pipes, removing sand deposits from the bottom of raw water pipes, installing an intake screen to prevent future blockages and migration of marine life into the plant, upgrading the chemical feed system, and installing an automatic switchover panel and anion exchange treatment solution. The project will improve drinking water quality and meet the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks’ requirement for the water treatment plant to comply with the ODWQS. The upgrades will also improve the facility’s reliability, effectiveness and performance, and increase the lifespan of the asset.
