Emotions in Motion is an 18-month Erasmus+ Sport initiative that uses rugby to boost self-awareness, and emotional well-being among young athletes (U14, U16, and U18). By integrating sports psychology and a peer-support system into regular training sessions, the project directly tackles low sports participation and the increasing emotional stress experienced by GenZ today. Through targeted workshops, coaches receive the skills they need to build resilience, leadership, and teamwork both on and off the field, while players create supportive networks that enhance emotional intelligence and social connections. Backed by research on the benefits of structured physical activity for mental health, Emotions in Motion brings together rugby clubs from Spain and Portugal with a shared mission. The project aims to deliver a comprehensive guide—Emotions in Motion: Building Resilience in Rugby—and interactive open- day events that invite families, community members, and stakeholders to adopt these innovative practices. By making sports more accessible, engaging, and emotionally supportive, Emotions in Motion helps shape confident, caring, and well-rounded young athletes ready to thrive on the field and in everyday life.
