Description
Description | The project addresses the problem that both Jordanians and Syrian refugees who have moved to Jordan find it difficult to find work and therefore have no income opportunities. The project also focuses on the problem of very complex work permit processes for Syrians through close coordination with other donors (CfW Working Group) and a dialogue with the Ministry of Labour (MoL). The aim of the FC project is to create short-term employment opportunities for Syrian refugees and Jordanians and to facilitate medium-term access to the labour market for the target group. The project is the fifth phase of the project and can therefore build on successes already achieved (e.g. capacity building in the administrations of the participating municipalities, successes in facilitating the issuing of work permits by the MoL). The focus of this fifth phase of the project is on labour-intensive road rehabilitation measures as well as beautification and repair work in host communities. Various accompanying measures and training courses for Syrians and Jordanians are also planned. The 50% participation rate of refugees in all activities of the project is also intended to promote social cohesion. The measures will be carried out in the governorates of Amman, Irbid, Mafraq and Zarqa as a continuation of the previous phases of the program and will be supplemented by the governorate of Karak, which also hosts a relatively high proportion of Syrian refugees and has high vulnerability rates. The target group is Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in Jordan. As in previous phases, the project will be carried out with the International Labour Organization. |
