EmpoWerING Actors in Civic Space Protection

WING is transnational action that responds to the increasing criminalisation of solidarity towards migrants in the EU. It aims at promoting rights and values by empowering actors promoting the civic space to prevent and address criminalisation of solidarity towards migrants and its consequences through collection and monitoring of cases, co-creation of multi-actor multidimensional solutions, national and transnational exchanges, civic-policy dialogue and awareness. WING will 1) create an online Database with evidence on at least 200 cases and first-hand experience of criminalized organizations and individuals feeding into Annual reports. WING will also develop a Methodological note combining different methodologies for monitoring criminalisation that will be used to train 20 civic space actors; 2) engage 75 civic space actors around co-creation of multi-actor multidimensional solutions to address and prevent criminalisation that will feed into Infographics; 3) map 240 civic space actors and create opportunities to discuss solutions through National workshops for 125 people, a Transnational workshop for 20 people, and a Midterm and Final coordination events for 20 people; 4) produce a Policy brief with recommendations on how to foster the civic space in the EU at policy level through multi- stakeholder, multi-dimensional solutions to criminalisation that will be discussed with 15 EU policymakers and stakeholders during a EU Roundtable. WING will also create an Advisory Board with 8 key actors focusing on different segments of the EU civic space; 5) run an Awareness raising campaign for 5000 civic space actors on the extent and impact of criminalisation on the civic space and an Information campaign to share solutions with 500 civic space actors acting in solidarity with migrants. WING results will be shared through an EU Webinar (50 people), Press releases (400 journalists), a Final conference (50 people) and ongoing dissemination activities (200,000 people)
