Description

Description

"Through ""Empowering Migrant Women: Promoting citizen engagement and Participation in Belgium and Spain"", The Collectif des Femmes and Red Latinas aim to foster inclusion and strengthen civic participation of specific marginalized and vulnerable groups (Migrants Women) by addressing the gaps and barriers that limit their agency and the effective exercise of their citizenship, by raising migrant women's awareness of their social and political rights and EU values, promoting capacity building, trainings, information sessions, debates and empowerment meetings adopting a gender mainstreaming, equal opportunities and non-discrimination approach. In the short term, the aim is to study the origin of integration problems in order to raise awareness about the challenges and barriers. It also seeks to strengthen their leadership and communication skills. In the medium term, it aims to increase the number of migrant women participating in both formal and informal local and European decision-making processes; improve their understanding of EU policy structures. While in the long term, it is expected to transform perceptions and stereotypes about migrant women and their capacity for social action. The sustainable integration of migrant women in the political and social spheres will thus contribute to a more inclusive and equal society, able to integrate their voices into policy-making processes. Furthermore, as regards the estimated duration of the project, a period of two years, 2024-2026, offers a suitable opportunity to put in place coherent and measurable actions, while guaranteeing the long-term sustainability and impact of the project. The project will be implemented in four key phases: (a) Launch and Research, (b) Policy Dialogue and Exchange, (c) Capacity Building and Awareness Raising and (d) Evaluation and Development of advocacy and Strategies."
