Empowering Older Adults for Collective Engagement

AGEFORCE implements a bottom-up citizen engagement collective intelligence framework that will enable older adults to actively participate in the formulation of initiatives that will impact positively on their physical activity levels. The project builds upon the participatory citizen science involving older adults in the design and implementation of physical activities schemes. AGEFORCE will also build the foundations for the development of a Pan-European Citizen Science Hub on Active Ageing, by introducing the concept of the Communities of Interest in its work structure. The project will focus mainly on building the appropriate supportive framework for increased PA levels, meaning that the interventions will focus on the design of tools to motivate the older adults and a built environment that inspires them. During the co-creation project, older adults along with stakeholders and partners will co-design innovative offline practices (counseling services, training programs, specialized gyms, organized excursions, etc.) and digital interventions (communication platform, Virtual Communities of interest, Online booking systems, tele-coaching, etc.) based on older adults' needs and visions. Older adults will also be informed and motivated to develop informal action teams through a full series of informative seminars, so they can stay active through social inclusion. The AGEFORCE partnership incorporates universities, a municipality, a sport organization and a software company specialized on co-creative digital solutions.
