Description
Description | The project aim is the development of amputee football as an effective tool for the physical and psychological rehabilitation of people regardless of gender or age, who have undergone lower or upper limb amputations or have congenital limb defects, including war veterans, victims of war, and civilians, by strengthening the capacity of grassroots sport organizations and fostering international cooperation in the field of inclusive sports, in order to ensure the sustainable integration of amputee football into the sports ecosystem in Ukraine and worldwide. To achieve these objectives, the project analyzes and adapts European best practices, enhances grassroots training programs, conducts international exchanges, and advocates for policy inclusion. Key activities include capacity-building workshops for coaches and rehabilitation specialists, joint research on the impact of amputee football, national and international tournaments, and a large-scale public awareness campaign to increase visibility and participation. Aligned with Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Sport priorities, the project promotes social inclusion, non-discrimination, and gender equality through sport. By fostering long-term collaboration between sports bodies, rehabilitation centers, policymakers, and European partners, it ensures that amputee football is recognized as an integral part of rehabilitation and adaptive sports, securing a lasting impact beyond the project’s duration. Furthermore, the project introduces digital learning tools to enhance training accessibility, develops policy recommendations for institutional recognition, and supports the expansion of grassroots amputee football teams. Through a comprehensive approach combining research, training, advocacy, and international cooperation, it not only strengthens adaptive sports in Ukraine but also contributes to global knowledge-sharing and best practice exchange in disability-inclusive sports development. |
