Description
Description | Empowering Women in Alpine Skiing (EWAS) aims to contribute to inclusion and diversity, in particular gender equality, and increase women’s employability in Alpine skiing by promoting education and skills development in the sport and thus improving the quality of coaching. EWAS’ primary target groups are women in Alpine skiing (coaches, administrators, racers). A major obstacle to gender equality in skiing is how coaches are trained and recruited, which encourages cooptation and perpetuation of the “boys club”. By developing trainings and offering skills development opportunities, we will improve women’s coaching and leading skills in Alpine skiing. EWAS will increase women’s employability in the sport. EWAS will: 1. Research the obstacles girls and women face in Alpine skiing and elaborate policy proposals and best practices 2.
