Description

Description

"""Youth is our future"" - this slogan has never been as relevant as it has been in our time. In times of Extreme Right Movements, opposition between member states, raising hate speech, intolerance, discrimination and racism, forthcoming economic crisis and COVID there is hope in youth for building a common and civic Europe. With the above background, the main objective of the project is to build a network of small-sized proeuropean cities that want to be friendly to young people and encourage them to invest themselves in their local communities and spread knowledge about European Union and common values. All cities, unfortunately, are struggling with the outflow of young people, an aging population and have a smaller access to information about EU. We want to to encourage young people to actively participate in the decision making and democratic processes of the European Union through developing citizens' understanding of the Union and cities policy making-process and promoting opportunities for societal and intercultural engagement. The project seeks to empower young people to participate in the shaping of the Future of EU, and express their opinions, by emphasising the importance of active citizenship, individual awareness and different ways of participation. As part of this project, we will focus mainly on the EU citizenship rights priority: to promote awareness and build knowledge concerning EU citizenship rights and associated European common values and common democratic standards, foster the inclusion and provision of information to mobile EU citizens - mainly young people but also other residents of our cities, including seniors (intergenerational activities), and encourage the inclusion and democratic participation of mobile EU citizens and under-represented groups."
