To improve the welfare of families in Finnish-Russian border area, to ensure high quality and easy access services in multicultural society both in Finland and Russia. To increase understanding of each others’ social service system and family culture. Specific objectives: To enhance the competence of social and health care professionals working in a multicultural environment and improve the competence of professionals in preventive and empowering social work with families. To collect scientific data on the present situation of the social and health services and competence of the staff and data on the best practices in both countries and other European countries. To start family consulting clinic activities in St Petersburg, Vyborg, Svetogorsk, Tichvin and Pikalevo. To enhance the quality of the services of family consulting clinics in Imatra, Lappeenranta, Kotka and Hamina. To generate and execute study modules on working in a multicultural environment for the students of Saimaa UAS and Kymenlaakso UAS. To produce information for well being services in a (cross-platform) .txt format for use on the internet pages.
