Description
Description | The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) acknowledges the significance of nurturing gender equality and inclusivity within its organization and its affiliated members, as delineated in its statutes emphasising the importance of achieving gender balance within CEV bodies. However, despite efforts, female representation in leadership roles remains notably lacking, with minimal numbers present, such as two women out of 19 in the CEV Board of Administration. The CEV acknowledges the crucial role of gender equality in sports organisations, recognising its potential to drive innovation and growth. Despite efforts, female representation in leadership remains limited, highlighting the need for comprehensive empowerment initiatives. Integrating women's empowerment into the Erasmus+ Project stands pivotal for CEV's long-term growth. The proposed project encompasses key areas: (1) A needs assessment to identify barriers women face in accessing leadership roles; (2) Securing executive support and commitment through strategic policies; (3) Specialised training programmes and educational initiatives targeting gender equality; and (4) Building a robust network of women, fostering mentorship and collaboration within and beyond CEV. These initiatives aim to empower women within the organisation, driving a more inclusive and diverse environment. |
