Description

In December 2001, PSEG completed its purchase of 100% of Empresa de Electricidad de los Andes (ElectroAndes). This electric generation facility located in the Central Andean region northeast of Lima includes four hydroelectric facilities totaling 183 MW and 460 miles of transmission lines. PSEG was awarded ElectroAndes in July 2001, following a public tender. ElectroAndes is the sixth largest electric generator in Peru and is the major generator of hydroelectric power for Peru's mining industry. EletroAnes' hydroelectric plants include: Yaupi Station a 108 MW facility located in the District o Ulcumayo, Malpaso Station a 54 MW facility located in the District of Paccha, the Pachachaca Station a 12 MW station located in the District of Pachachaca, and the La Oroya station a 9 MW facility located in the District of La Oroya. In addition to the four existing generating plants, ElectroAndes has the exclusive rights to develop a 100 MW expansion of the Yaupi facility and a 150 MW Greenfield hydro generation plant. PSEG financed 35% of the ElectroAndes market with local debt. On October 17, 2007 SN Power succssfully purchased ElectroAndes from PSEG for US $390 million. None None
