EMR Digital Twin Academy: Considered one of the key technologies of Industry. 4.0, digital twins are the ultimate step in digitization creating a virtual representation of a real entity and organizing an exchange iterative loop between digital and real world, they integrate the whole life cycle of products, machines, production lines or even entire companies.  Digital twins focus on different aspects such as the conception, production,  customer service, logistics, maintenance, etc... Within the next few years, the use of digital twin technologies will rocket and truly change the way we conduct innovation, research and development, conception, prototyping, production, integration, maintenance, IOT and data management, customer services, logistics, etc. Therefore it affects all companies regardless of their size or sector of activities. Need identified – reason for the project: Digital twin technologies are still very innovative and there is a knowledge gap in this strategic domain regarding  teaching and learning, research and development, integration and consulting. As it is a very complex subject, there are only a few specialists in this technology in each region and/or country. Thus, only cross-boarder approach can drive to ambitious projects in this topic. Additionally, there isn't currently any structured collaboration within Euregio when it comes to digital twins. Opportunity: Many universities, higher education institutions, research centres, and innovative companies are located in the Euregio. By combining knowledge and experience, an innovative knowledge distribution structure can be established. The Euregio has the potential to become an area of excellence concerning digital twin technologies. In fact, the local but also worldwide markets potentially represents thousands of customers in R&D;, integration, consulting, learning & development in the digital twin sector and therefore a huge amount of local high value jobs, careers and business opportunities. The success will come from two key factors; on one hand to test digital twin in real business environment and learn about it and on the other hand to elevate the general level of knowledge and expertise of Euregio regarding digital twins. With this digital twin Academy concept, we build an ecosystem that breaks down the barriers between seminars/colloquiums, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, lifelong learning courses, fundamental research and applied research concerning digital twins. The idea is to gather universities and engineering schools, training centers and research centers and industrial partners in order to build a digital twin Academy.  With the assets described above, Euregio is ideal to implement the concept, co-creating an area of excellence in digital twins and promoting cross-boarder collaboration regarding this topic. Strategic & operational project objectives - Work Packages and Targets. Work Package 1: Create a virtual and person-to-person community of experts in digital twins within the Euregio for inspiration, innovation, exchange of best practices, learning and development, and networking (academics, researchers, trainers, experts, CEOs, engineers, industrials, etc.) Person-to-person: Co-organisation of workshops/Seminars – Conferences – Study days  Virtual: Organisation of webinars – Live streaming of events – Video-conferences. Work Package 2 & 3: Co-development of innovative training programmes, with new learning approaches (Mooc, Spoc, webinars, live-conference, virtual classrooms, etc) concerning digital twin through the EMR area. WP2: Generic content (all audiences): Co-development of a  generic programme for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students, professional & unemployed people concerning digital twins using material developed by the academic partners – Aim: test the trainee's level, define the training path, and teach the mandatory basis. WP3: Specific content (various content for students, professionals (blue and white collar), CEO & Executives, unemployed people): Co-development  of innovative training programmes on digital twins for professionals and/or unemployed people with real problem-based learning and an approach that associates industrial partners. Work Package 4:  Use cases of implementation of digital twin in real professional environment with industrial partners. - Learn about the digital twin in a real industrial environment  - Increase the skills of EMR regarding digital twins implementation. - Produce use cases - material for the previous Work Packages 1, 2 and 3. - Connect the academic partners - the educational system - to industrials -  labour market (See Attachment N° 14,15&16)
