Enabled Theater

Enabled Theatre is a project made by a consortium of experienced cultural organizations, aiming to establish and cultivate a theatre for and about the people with special needs. It also enables the mobility of people with special needs and those taking care of them, and uses innovative online means allowing persons with special needs to collaborate in theatre projects across the Western Balkans and the EU. It will bring together people with the special needs, the medical and other professionals that work with persons with special needs (psychologists, therapists, pedagogues and others), and professional artists (actors, musicians, visual artists, writers, directors). It It will take place in Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. The participants will consist of the persons with the special needs, people accompanying them, and professional artists. A methodology for collaboration will be developed between artists and persons with special needs, allowing them to work together, leading to cooperative series of workshops. During this process, an online platform will be launched inviting tens of persons with disabilities ( among them workshop participants) to begin sharing ideas on stories and the procees, allowing them for greater communication. All this will culminate with a series of artistic creations, key of which will be a theatre play created by and for persons with disabilities, and strong advocacy campaign to open the first ever regional cultural center in Montenegro, exclusively focused on cultural integration for persons with special needs.
