Description

Description

EDICS 2.0 is a second-phase European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) that accelerates the digital and sustainable transformation of Bulgaria’s construction sector. Building on the achievements of EDICS 1.0, the project supports SMEs, mid-caps, and public authorities in adopting advanced technologies - such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital twins, IoT, and AI - while ensuring compliance with the AI Act and alignment with EU digital and green objectives. The hub offers an integrated portfolio of services across the four pillars of the EDIH model: test-before-invest, training and skills development, access to finance, and ecosystem building. These are enabled by a robust governance and quality framework, an operational demonstration and training centre, and strong partnerships with regional, national, and EU-level stakeholders. Through strategic links with initiatives such as the AI-on-Demand Platform, BRAIN++ AI Factory, Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs), Enterprise Europe Network, EIT, and Startup Europe, EDICS 2.0 will ensure cross-border service delivery and full integration into the EU innovation ecosystem. EDICS 2.0 is fully aligned with the DIGITAL-2025-EDIH-EU-EEA-08 call, demonstrating maturity, readiness to scale, and the capacity to deliver measurable impacts in AI uptake, digital maturity, and sustainable construction. With its multi-disciplinary consortium and secured co-funding, the hub acts as a strategic driver of innovation, productivity, and competitiveness in the built environment - both nationally and across Europe.
