The reroute is 41 miles long, moving the pipeline off tribal land and crossing more than 180 Lake Superior tributaries. The project aims to remove 12 miles of pipeline from tribal land by June 2026 as per court order. The reroute will pass through Ashland and Iron counties, including Iron County State Forest and near Copper Falls State Park. The project is estimated to cost $450 million and create 700 jobs with a $135 million economic impact in northern Wisconsin. |
