The Enchakkal interstate bus terminal project is a proposed KSRTC terminal-cum-commercial complex at Enchakkal in Thiruvananthapuram, aimed at easing congestion at the existing city bus stations and improving interstate and long-distance bus operations. Planned on about 5.79 acres, the project will be developed through a public-private partnership (PPP) under the design-build-finance-operate-transfer (DBFOT) model. The terminal is envisioned with multiple bus bays, parking for buses, and modern passenger amenities such as waiting areas, ticketing facilities, surveillance systems, and dormitories, along with commercial spaces to generate revenue. Designed on the lines of integrated mobility hubs, the project seeks to enhance commuter convenience while enabling KSRTC to monetise its land assets, with construction expected to begin after the e-tendering process and be completed within a stipulated concession period.
