This project involves the expansion and upgrade of Enel Colombia's electricity distribution network in Bogota and Cundinamarca, Colombia. The total project cost is $300m and it was provided with an 8-year loan from the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The financing will be used for the construction of new infrastructure, network reinforcement, digitalization, the network expansion to new clients and support for the development of electric mass transportation systems in Bogotá and Cundinamarca. This initiative encompasses investments in enhancing the high-voltage electrical system, involving the construction of substations like Centenario, Intexzona, and Madrid. This entails the installation of 4.1 km of high-voltage lines and 50 km of medium-voltage networks to facilitate the integration of new stakeholders such as generators and industries. Moreover, it aims to address the increasing demand while maintaining top-notch quality standards in terms of environmental and social sustainability, with a focus on minimizing impacts within the project's influence areas.
