The project was to be fueled from sustainable short rotation coppice (SRC) plantations. The plant reportedly started activity in June 2007. Project operating life is 25 years. The project applied for UNFCCC CDM funding. The counterparty was the IBRD administered Danish CDM fund. Total cost was unknown, but estimated at US$13 million (based on $1.3 million/ MW, the lowest average recorded cost by PPIRE in 2011 - in LAC). EnerGeon filed an identical CDM application for a project named Uhana. The project is identical in every way, and the location is exactly the same.
