Energo-SAS developed the 8.6MW Sasaj small hydropower plant, in Saranda District, Southern Albania. Annual output was estimated at 38 GWh. Energo-SAS is a subsidiary of AGNA group. The project consisted of 2x 4,000kW. Energo-SAS was the project company, established in April 2006. The project was commissioned in June 2012. The project was to be used for irrigation purposes during May/September and for generation purposes between October/May. The project was connected to the national grid via an existing 35kV transmission line, rehabilitated for the projects purpose. The project received the BOO concession in September 2003. The construction license was received in January 2009. The environmental license was received in August 2007. The generation license was received in November 2006. Construction was initially expected to be completed in September 2010. Commissioning was reported in June 2012. ERE issued Standard Basic PPA with Public Wholesale Supplier (KESH) for small HPPs. Total project cost was EUR 8.5 million (US$10.6 million). Financing was provided by Raiffeisen Bank.
