Description

Description

The Programme for the Rehabilitation of Distribution Networks and the Reduction of Electrical Losses implemented by the CDEEE (Corporation of Dominican State Electricity Companies) and led by EIB seeked to progressively reduce technical and non-technical energy losses in electricity distribution companies. The objective of this programme was to contribute to the sustainability of the power sector by strengthening the national electricity company’s operational procedures and corporate performance, and by improving the sustainability of rural electricity supply. This intervention contributed to reduce generation costs, review the tariff structure, assess options for power generation using low-carbon technologies and improve access to sustainable energy.
