The project involves approximately 275 kilometres of new pipeline along an existing rail right-of-way to Moosonee, with most of the pipeline already in place from Hardisty to Empress and along the TC Energy Mainline to Smooth Rock Falls or Cochrane. The project aims to provide Ontario with its own tidewater port on James Bay, involving dredging and potentially building an artificial island port to accommodate large ships. The project also considers the need for icebreaking services due to the ice conditions in James Bay. |
