Energy efficiency for buildings

As part of the project, energy efficiency measures are being implemented in public buildings in Jordan. There is great potential for saving energy, particularly in hospitals, health centers, schools and administrative buildings, due to outdated infrastructure. The project is designed as an open program. The specific energy efficiency measures and technologies to be implemented will be identified during the course of the program, depending on the condition and needs of the individual buildings, the economic viability of the individual measures and the priorities of the Jordanian partners. Saving energy will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, meaning the project will contribute to global climate protection. The program sponsor is the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH), which is responsible for major investments in public buildings and works with the Ministries of Health and Education in their role as building owners and operators. As part of an accompanying measure, the ministries involved will be supported by the experienced German consultant GFA in implementing the extensive and complex energy efficiency program.
