Energy Efficiency for the Finch Community Arena

The survival of small rural communities depends on the retention of their amenities and a healthy community needs a well-designed, safe, functional, inviting recreation and sports facility. The North Stormont Township will upgrade essential infrastructure in the Finch Arena. The Arena is a popular place for skating and hockey and still offers public skating, for an incredible $1.25 a person. The second floor is a beautifully renovated facility perfect for community events, family parties and business meetings. This project will upgrade the existing heating, cooling, dehumidifying, and hot water supply equipment, installed from 2009 - 2014, with energy efficient reliable new equipment. This building is used for disaster relief. However, the community room is not accessible during a power failure due to the lack of a generator to operate the elevator. The new essential equipment and energy saving upgrades to this vital community facility will benefit residents and visitors alike.
