Energy efficiency in the Indian power grid

The India Energy Efficiency Program is a complement to the renewable energy transmission projects and is intended to promote investments in energy efficiency measures in India. The FC module objective is to support the Indian government in implementing its plans to improve energy efficiency and to contribute to a more secure, climate- and environmentally-friendly electricity supply by reducing energy losses in the Indian interconnected grid. The project thus contributes to a broad-based, technically and economically efficient, as well as socially and ecologically sustainable energy supply (DC program objective). The project is planned to be implemented with the state electricity transmission company in Kerala (KSEB). The planned investments include measures for energy-efficient electricity transmission and transformation in northern Kerala.
