The aim of the project is to simulate the energetic and economic advantages of a comprehensivethermal modernization along the entire heating chain (heat generation, distribution and use) using a residential area in Lviv and to prove it as a model as far as possible. The project also supports the city of Lviv in integrating new sustainable heat sources in the form of heat pumps into Sychhiv's district heating system. Homeowner associations (Ukrainian: Obiednannja spiwwlasnykiwbahatokwartyrnych budynkiw, in short: "OSBBs") receive concrete and comprehensive support in the implementation of their modernization projects. As a positive example, the project demonstrates the energetic and economic benefit of building modernization to increase energy efficiency and serves as a reference for the EEF.
