The aim of the project is to spread energy-efficient technologies in the social housing sector. The aim is to finance residential properties with lower energy and water consumption by providing low-interest and long-term credit financing. This is the third phase of the energy-efficient housing program, which is financed by means of a low-interest FZ loan (DKTI-ZV) and in co-financing with the AFD under the JEFIC - Joint European Financial Institution Cooperation cooperation agreement. The previous phases were successfully signed, fully paid out and implemented in June 2019 and December 2021. Building on these successes and experiences, the criteria for housing subsidies are to be continuously raised. The use of ZV funds is essential for continuing the project and increasing the level of ambition, and it makes a lot of sense in terms of development policy. The financed measures lead to greenhouse gas reductions, increase resilience to climate change and have a demonstrable promotional effect in social housing by lowering the end customer interest rate (expansion of creditworthiness, right to adequate housing). The project is sensibly integrated into the target system for the BMZ priority area of sustainable urban development. The project strengthens the climate partnership with Peru signed in November 2022 and sensibly complements the target system of the development cooperation program in the field of action to ensure the supply of goods and services (water, mobility, energy and sewage/waste disposal) to Peru's growing urban population in an environmentally and climate-friendly manner. Furthermore, the Mivivienda Verde program is the first major Peruvian financing program to initiate a sustainable housing industry in Peru and is to be structured jointly with the AFD in the spirit of triangular cooperation.
