Description

Description

Energy Partners, an Albanian privately owned energy developer, would build two hydropower plants - Cerruje 1 and Cerruje 2, on the Benji River, 140 kilometres north-east of the Albanian capital Tirana. With a combined generation capacity of 5.1 MW, the utilities would generate up to 14.7 GWh of electricity per year, and help offset over 9,500 tonnes of CO2 Energy Partners was expecting to build 5 hydropower plants on the Benji River. No information about a PPA was available. The two facilities were part of Energy Partners’ plan to develop five small hydropower units on Benji river, on a Build-Own-Transfer (BOT) basis for 35 years. The EBRD approved in December 2011 a US$4.16 million (€3 million) loan to Energy Partners http://www.ebrd.com/pages/news/press/2011/111123a.shtml http://www.hydroworld.com/index/display/article-display/6443342735/articles/hrhrw/hydroindustrynews/newdevelopment/2011/12/european-bank_funds.html
