To limit global warming, efforts are being made at European level to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce them to zero by 2050. To achieve this, sustainability competencies are essential. The type of staff needed will change significantly in the coming years and therefore there is a need to broaden skills and learn digital competences. Skills for a sustainable future: developing the right competencies in education and business Energy(k) Education wants to train more skilled staff to shape the energy transition. This is achieved through the development of new modules for both secondary and higher education, as well as reskilling pathways and upskilling programmes, as well as to increase interest in the sectors concerned through recruitment and awareness campaigns. The project focuses on various sectors, including installation technology, construction, (chemical) industrial and energy sectors, metals and engineering. The learning methods include hybrid learning and blended learning, combining face-to-face and digital education. Among other things, the project aims to adapt existing training courses, develop new retraining pathways and create hybrid learning workplaces. Working together with companies and educational institutions on both sides of the border to promote existing and new knowledge networks.
