Description
Description | This project involves the development of the Enerjisa YEKA-2 onshore wind power initiative, located in the Aydin, Balikesir, and Çanakkale regions of western Türkiye. The project encompasses the construction of nine wind farms with a combined capacity of 750 MW, supported by the installation of 180 wind turbines supplied by Enercon. Once completed, the wind farms are expected to generate approximately 2.51 TWh of renewable energy annually, contributing significantly to Türkiye's transition toward a greener energy mix and reduced reliance on imported fuels. The sponsor for this initiative is Enerjisa Enerji Üretim A.S., financially supported by U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) with $350 million loan, Proparco with $75 million, DEG with $40 million, Akbank with $100 million, KfW IPEX-Bank with $125 million, HSBC, and JPMorgan. The total project financing amounts to over $1 billion and includes $400 million in buyer credit covered by Euler Hermes. The project is expected to be completed by early 2026. Financial close is achieved in December, 2024. https://www.dfc.gov/media/press-releases/dfc-announces-its-largest-wind-energy-investment; https://www.proparco.fr/en/actualites/turkey-proparco-supports-enerjisa-its-green-strategy; https://www.kfw-ipex-bank.de/Presse/News/Pressemitteilungsdetails_826624-2.html; https://www.akbankinvestorrelations.com/en/news/detail/100-million-USD-Green-Financing-for-750MW-WPP-Project-from-Akbank/702/2197/0 |
