Description
Description | With the training and support of 150 youth workers, Youth4GreenPolicy empowers more than 1,500 young people to become active agents in shaping Europe’s sustainable future. The project aims to bridge the gap between ambitious EU climate and sustainability frameworks and meaningful youth participation. Young people and youth workers get equipped with critical thinking tools, participatory methods, and real-world policy simulation experiences, which strengthen youth civic engagement in democratic and environmental policymaking processes. Youth will explore and co-create localised solutions to EU climate and sustainability challenges through innovative tools, critical debates, policy simulations, and co-design activities. They will experience real-world policy negotiations, understand trade-offs, and practice consensus-building, improving their ability to critically engage with green policies, identify greenwashing, and counter misinformation. The project fosters gender-sensitive participation, acknowledging that girls, boys, and non-binary youth engage differently with climate narratives. It ensures inclusivity and diversity in all activities, encouraging youth from all backgrounds to take leadership roles in sustainability action. Young people will join a dynamic, dedicated online platform supporting ongoing debates, learning, and networking, turning short-term engagement into long-term civic action. Youth4GreenPolicy includes four international trainings, four series of local actions with over 100 events, five thematic webinars involving youth and policymakers, a climate quiz series, a transnational experts working group, an EU-wide survey, a youth Bootcamp for community leaders, a European conference, and a permanent digital community. In total, the project delivers 15 events and over 150 concrete activities, engaging young Europeans in critical dialogue, creative policymaking, and collaborative action to co-create a greener, more democratic Europe. |
