Description | "The ""Enhancement of Research and Innovation Capacity in Georgian HEIs"" (ERIC-GE) project aims to strengthen the research and innovation capacity of Georgian HEIs by implementing digital resources and advanced evaluation methods. It seeks to improve research quality, impact, and alignment with international standards, fostering academic excellence and competitiveness. The project's objectives focus on embedding scientometrics within Georgian HEIs to enhance research skills of MA/PhD students and academic staff. Participants will gain expertise in scientometric analysis and advanced research methodologies, improving Georgia's global academic standing. The project aims to modernize institutional research policies in line with ERA standards to boost university competitiveness. Supported by a consortium of EU partners, the project will improve the capacity of HEIs to assess research impact, foster innovation, and refine teaching and research practices, ensuring compatibility with international benchmarks. The project's specific objectives and initiatives include: a) Designing and implementing new online course in –“Scientometrics” for students and young researchers, covering topics such as citation analysis, bibliometric indicators, potentometrics, impact evaluation, and research trend mapping etc.; b) Developing training modules for academic staff to improve their digital proficiency in using scientometric tools for research evaluation, publishing strategy, and performance monitoring. c) Enhancing institutional research capacity by providing access to platforms as Web of Science (WoS) Essentials Package and InCites Benchmarking & Analytics tool, allowing to use WoS data for complex analytics and InCites Journals and Highly Cited Data solution providing comprehensive information on 22,000 journals indexed in WoS Essentials Package and integrating scientometric analysis into the course content. d) Aligning institutional research policies with European standards " |
