Description
Description | The EmpowerVET project aims to address the significant gap between the skills taught in Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions and the evolving needs of the labor market in Albania. This discrepancy has led to high rates of youth unemployment and underemployment, highlighting a critical need for reform in the VET sector. The main objectives of the project are: - Align VET Curricula with Market Demands by collaborating with industry experts and analyzing labor market trends - Foster Entrepreneurial Skills through the development of specialized programs and initiatives encouraging innovation and the creation of start-ups. - Digital Integration in Education by incorporating digital technologies into the learning environment, ensuring that students and teachers are proficient in digital competencies - Professional Development for Teachers by offering continuous training and development opportunities with the latest pedagogical strategies, digital tools, and industry insights. The consortium consists of international and local partners, including Blinc from Germany, IESRdL from Spain, 2 VET providers and a SME from Albania. This diverse partnership brings together expertise in education, technology, entrepreneurship, and project management. EmpowerVET is structured in four work packages, each focusing on a specific aspect of the project. Activities include the development of new learning materials, teacher training programs, stakeholder engagement events, and the establishment of digital platforms for collaborative learning. The project aims to create a lasting impact by not only enhancing the quality and relevance of VET education in Albania but also by establishing mechanisms for continuous improvement and adaptation to labor market needs. By fostering partnerships between educational institutions, industry, and government, EmpowerVET seeks to create a sustainable ecosystem that supports the ongoing development of the VET sector. |
