Description
Description | "BrainSpin is a transnational Erasmus+ Sport project that leverages table tennis as a rehabilitation tool to enhance motor function, cognitive abilities, and social well-being in individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Traditional exercise programs often struggle with low adherence, but BrainSpin offers an engaging, structured intervention that integrates motor, cognitive, and social components to maximize therapeutic benefits. The project focuses on: 1. Developing a standardized training framework and ""Train-the-Trainer"" certification to equip professionals with skills in adaptive table tennis therapy. 2. Implementing a 6-month intervention (each year) across multiple European countries to assess its impact on mobility, cognition, and quality of life. 3. Establishing a digital learning platform to ensure long-term sustainability and access to training resources. 4. Conducting research to determine the optimal training parameters for PD rehabilitation. Aligned with Erasmus+ Sport priorities in health-enhancing physical activity, social inclusion, and digital transformation, BrainSpin fosters an accessible, evidence-based intervention for people with PD. The Train-the-Trainer component ensures capacity-building, while the multi-country consortium (Slovenia, Germany, Croatia, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Greece) promotes cross-sector collaboration between sports organizations, healthcare professionals, and academic institutions. BrainSpin delivers a cost-effective, sustainable model for sports-based neurorehabilitation, advancing EU goals in health, education, and social cohesion." |
