Description

Description

Expected impact and actions The proposed action will focus on Italy, Greece and Sweden where selected professionals and volunteers will be trained and supported in order to integrate within existing services dedicated to UAMs, former UAMs and refugee children, especially those fleeing the Ukraine's conflict, a tested group based methodology, ‘TeamUp’, developed by Stichting War Child NL, Save The Children NL and UNICEF NL. TeamUp engages groups of migrant children in psychosocial structured movement based activities specifically designed to strengthen children’s resilience and wellbeing, and enables staff and volunteers to timely identify children experiencing mental distress and in need of targeted specialised support. Such a methodology will thus be integrated within the activities that all other partners already implement directly or with other actors for the UAMs, former UAMs and refugee children in their care, including community awareness raising, foster parents’ identification and training, educational, social and psychological support. Main outputs and expected outcomes - Number of TeamUp sessions implemented in each country by trained staff - Number of adequate referrals made to specialised services by the trained staff/volunteers - Reduction/prevention in the number of psychological adverse reactions experienced by UAMs, former UAMs and refugee children - Increase in UAMs, former UAMs and refugee children overall psychological wellbeing - Increase in staff and volunteers Knowledge, Attitude and Skills when dealing with the MHPSS needs of UAMS, former UAMs and refugee children - Increased number of individuals able to promote the psychosocial wellbeing of UAMs, former UAMs and refugee children - Strengthening of international networks for the protection and promotion of UAMs, former UAMs and refugee children MHPSS needs Number and type of main beneficiaries - 500 UAMs, former UAMs and refugee children living in non-institutionalised alternative care systems in Italy (family-based and foster care), Greece (small group homes), Sweden (network family housing) Across the 3 countries, approx.ly 120 volunteers/facilitators will be trained on how to integrate within their current activities the TeamUp methodology and in basic MHPSS
