Description

Description

"EPACE-EU isEPACE-EU is a programme implemented by the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), which seeks to elevate citizen awareness and participation in the European Union's deliberative democracy. On the aftermath of 2024 European Elections, EPACE-EU will pursue to build upon the activities and the impact occurred in the previous two years and fortify the democratic engagement across EU member states and neighboring regions. The project’s objectives are multiple and multidimensional, contributing substantially to ELIAMEP’s European Programme ""Ariane Condellis”. These objectives comprise: a) the enhancement of ELIAMEP’s capacity to provide analytical insights on EU affairs, b)the fostering of informed citizen engagement through diverse educational formats and public dialogues; and c) the bolstering of participatory democracy by facilitating structured forums that bring citizens closer to the EU governance system and institutional architecture. In 2025, all the aforementioned activities will continue, while two additional training activities will be implemented on top of the activities organised in 2024: 2 Training to CSOs and the “Train the Trainers” Workshop which will lead to the formation of the EPACE-EU’s Educators Ambassadors. The planned activities are designed to directly engage over 200 citizens. It is worth mentioning that these figures are part of the approved Framework Agreement, but our activities have a much higher attendance record. In2023, the total number of participants exceeded three times this number (in the virtual Teacher’s Training seminar, held in October 2023, we overshot the expected figure by seven times with more than 200 participants, as can be seen in the portal). Furthermore, two of the activities have a transnational dimension (Emerging Leaders Academy and Ticket to an EU Ride)."
